Up for sale is a 1991 Ibanez SR-05, a high-end Soundgear model crafted at the renowned Fujigen factory in Japan. This is not your average SR-series bass — the SR-05 was a top-tier model in its time, known for exceptional build quality, smooth playability, and tonal versatility that has made early Soundgear basses highly regarded among players and collectors alike.
This instrument features:
- Original Ibanez Regulated Lo-Z pickups, designed for clarity and dynamic response
- All-original electronics: active 2-band EQ, volume, and pickup blend controls
- Lightweight, ergonomic body with deep cutaways
- Classic slim Soundgear neck — fast, comfortable, and responsive
Condition: Mechanically and structurally excellent. The bass plays very well with low action and a stable neck. Electronics function properly; the only minor issue is some hiss when boosting treble past halfway — common with older preamps.
Cosmetically, it shows signs of use consistent with its age: visible finish cracks in the body, dings on the headstock, and surface wear. These are purely aesthetic and do not affect playability or tone. I have tried my best to show them in the pictures.
Asking price: 320€, open to reasonable offers.
