The watch was purchased by myself new in 2022 from WatchUnique who, at the time, worked directly with the Tianjin factory. They had been purchasing original Seagull watches and OEM's directly from the Tianjin factory for over 10 years.
The watch has 21 jewels instead of 19 jewels which differs from the original manufactured in 1963. This is because the movement was improved and adjusted over time.
There are many unofficial (NOT PRODUCED BY SEAGULL) reproductions of the original 1963 model on the market, often with modifications such as a 40mm case, flat mineral or sapphire glass.
These versions are differentiated by NOT listing the "Tianjin Watch Company" name in Chinese text on the dial and case back because they are not allowed to carry the name.
The original reproduction has 2 lines of Chinese text on the dial etc which translates to "Tianjin Watch Company".
