This old French 4/4 violin is in very good condition and is being sold because it is no longer in use.
The instrument is over 100 years old and is highly likely from Mirecourt. Unlike many 19th-century German instruments or modern replicas, the violin has not been artificially aged and displays natural signs of aging consistent with its history.
The violin belonged to a musician and has been inspected in music stores in Helsinki and the United States.
According to the label, the instrument was likely serviced or repaired in Helsinki. As with most antique violins, labels should be considered more as a reference than as absolute proof of origin (they are often counterfeited).
The instrument has a deep, warm, and well-projected tone. The violin is comfortable to play, has no visible open cracks, and is made of beautiful, durable, dense old wood.
