Specialized in flower-and-bird paintings.with signature 'Keiju' 景樹 and seal 'Ko in' 康印 'Keiju' 景樹A quiet elegance defines this hanging scroll by Imai Keiju (1891–1967), where cascading cherry blossoms descend in soft arcs beneath the suggestion of a pale moon. A pupil of Imao Keinen and a painter rooted in the Maruyama tradition, Keiju brings his characteristic refinement to the composition: slender branches rendered with confident restraint, blossoms touched with gentle color, and a background that feels almost luminous in its simplicity. Known for his flower‑and‑bird paintings, he applies the same sensitivity to seasonal atmosphere here, creating a scene that feels both intimate and expansive. The work bears the signature “Keiju” (景樹) and the seals “Ko in” (康印) and “Keiju”, affirming the artist’s hand.
