Wooden Slats (Upper/Body Section): The top two-thirds of the bed use broad, steam-bent beech wood slats. These provide firm, orthopedic support for the spine and prevent the "sagging" common in cheaper mesh sofa beds.
Webbed Suspension (Lower/Foot Section): The foot of the bed uses high-tension elastic webbing. This reduces the weight of the mechanism and provides a softer feel for the legs, while also allowing the unit to fold more compactly into the sofa frame.
2. "Fold-With-Cushions" Capability
This mechanism is designed so that you don't have to remove the back cushions to open it. As the bed pulls out, the sofa’s backrest and seat cushions usually tuck neatly underneath the bed frame, keeping your living room tidy and saving you from find a place to store bulky cushions on the floor.
3. Integrated Mattress Retainer
In the image showing the mattress, you can see how the mattress sits deep within the steel perimeter. This recessed frame prevents the mattress from sliding around during the night, a common frustration with lower-end models.
