Birgitta Salenus Glöd (Glow) rya rug for NIAB, Sweden 1960s. Red and purple colours. The silk makers label is well preserved and fully intact on the reverse. 1150 x 1750mm.
Excellent condition with minimal wear. Minor stain on the reverse.
Birgitta Salenus designed rugs for NIAB from the 1950s to 1970s. During this time she designed 15 rugs for them which were sold in the Scandinavian countries and beyond as kits to be woven at home. The abstract designs are very recognisable and have a strong period feel.
