Selling my Anki Vector (I believe first gen).
Not in a rush to sell, just putting it out there in case someone would actually give it more use than I did.
I bought it back in January 2020, used it maybe for 1–2 months at most, and after that it’s mostly just been sitting in its original box. I’d take it out every now and then to check on it, but that’s about it. It’s been stored properly the whole time (in the box with a moisture absorber).
The main reason I never really used it properly was because I didn’t have stable Wi-Fi at the time, and later on when Anki shut down, things got a bit messy with subscriptions and setup. I kind of lost motivation after that.
I always had the idea of modding it and using it for programming or experimenting (there’s still a community around it), but never got around to it.
What it comes with:
- Robot
- Charging dock
- Cube
- Space Habitat mat
- Original box
- Spare cube battery (untested)
Condition:
- Powers on fine
- Very little actual usage
- Some dust from storage (I’ll clean it before selling)
- Cube battery might need replacing again
It’s still completely stock, no mods or custom firmware. I’ll reset it before selling.
I’m not fully sure what the official app/setup situation is like nowadays, but from what I’ve seen, people are still using these through community tools and custom setups.
I’m basically selling it because it feels a bit wasted just sitting in a box. If it sells for a price I’m happy with, I’ll probably put the money towards a 3D printer. Otherwise I might just keep it and eventually try to do something with it myself.
