TP-Link TL-SG105 five port gigabit desktop switch with its ORIGINAL power supply, plus seven ethernet cables. All of it tested.
ALL FIVE PORTS AND ALL SEVEN CABLES CONFIRMED AT GIGABIT. Each port was connected in turn to a gigabit adapter and confirmed negotiating a full 1000 Mbps link, not falling back to 100. Then each cable was checked the same way on a known-good port, so a bad cable could not hide a bad port or the other way round. Everything passed.
That matters more than it sounds. Dead ports and cables silently running at 100 Mbps are the two standard faults on used networking gear, and neither is visible by looking.
THE SWITCH. Five 10/100/1000 Mbps ports in a metal case. Unmanaged, so there is nothing to set up: plug it in and it works. Auto MDI/MDIX on every port, so it does not matter which cable goes where or which end is which.
THE CABLES, seven of them:
3x 50 cm Cat6, Nedis
2x 100 cm Cat6, Nedis
1x 300 cm Cat6, Nedis
1x long cable by Hama, marked verified for gigabit ethernet, white with blue connectors
TWO CABLES ARE MISSING THEIR RETAINING TAB, one of the 100 cm Nedis and the long Hama one. Both still carry a full gigabit link, confirmed in the testing above, so this is a mechanical issue and not an electrical one. The plugs seat and work normally but will not latch, so they can work loose if the cable gets tugged. Fine on a desk, less good somewhere they get knocked. The other five are undamaged.
