DOROTHY L.SAYERS
a BIOGRAPHY
JAMES BRABAZON
FOREWORD BY P.D. JAMES
"Admirable... a warts-and-all biographyẠại
Marghanita Laski, Country Life
"A full and splendid biography"
- Daily Express
"Brabazon has struck an excellent balance, admiring up to a point... criticising her when she is bullying, explaining much, theorising about her work just enough... She comes over as a woman of inspiring enthusiasm and vervằ
- Valerie Grove, Standard
"Most fascinating on the long history of repression and self-doubtằ_
- Hilary Spurling, Observer
"All Peter Wimsey fans will want to read this acutely perceptive biography... treats intimate events in her life with a new psychological depthịỊ
- Contemporary Review
"First class...well-written, sympathetic and highly perceptive"
- Isobel Quigley, The Month
"A stylish biography put together with a nice sense of proportion, a sharp eye for the detail that brings life, a quiet but unsleeping sense of humour and no itch to whitewash the heroine"
- Punch
"A powerful picture of an eccentric and ebullient subject... particularly perceptive about her religious writings"
- Birmingham Post
