Description
A beautiful vintage Turkish Oushak kilim from Anatolia, featuring an elegant combination of soft pink, warm brown and muted earthy tones.
Measuring an impressive 359 x 164 cm (approximately 11.8 x 5.4 ft), this long-format handwoven kilim offers a particularly attractive proportion for larger living spaces, dining areas, bedrooms or wide hallways.
The field is decorated with numerous stepped geometric diamond motifs, arranged in an intentionally irregular composition. Soft dusty pink motifs contrast beautifully against shades of brown, taupe, beige and subtle muted grey-green.
The design is framed by a strong geometric border in brown and ivory, creating a clear architectural frame around the softer central composition.
The restrained earthy palette combined with the faded pink tones gives this kilim a remarkably contemporary decorative quality. It would work especially well in Wabi-Sabi, Japandi, Scandinavian, Mediterranean, rustic, Bohemian and contemporary interiors.
The slight variations in weave, motif placement, color and symmetry are characteristic of traditional handmade Anatolian textiles and contribute to the individuality of the piece.
