Valmistaja kertoo:
The Yamaha DME8i-C is a high-performance digital mixing engine satellite designed to function as a terminal input/output (I/O) processor within a larger networked audio system. It is engineered to provide professional-grade analog-to-digital conversion and signal processing, specifically utilizing the CobraNet™ network interface for integration into complex, redundant, or VLAN-based audio installations.
The device is powered by the same Yamaha DSP7 digital signal processing LSI found in the company's flagship digital mixing consoles, allowing it to deliver approximately 80% of the processing power of a full-scale DME24N unit within a compact 1U rack-mount chassis. A key feature of the DME8i-C is its eight analog microphone inputs, which are equipped with high-quality, remotely controllable preamplifiers, making it an ideal solution for distributed I/O configurations where high-fidelity audio and reliable signal routing are paramount.
While the unit does not include the specific SPX effects found in larger DME series processors, it supports a wide array of programmable components via the DME Designer software, including crossovers, equalizers, dynamics processors, and specialized tools like room combiners and ambient noise compensators. The system is highly scalable, allowing users to combine the DME8i-C with other satellite units to create custom input/output counts, such as 12-in/4-out configurations, while maintaining centralized control via RS232C/422, GPI, or Ethernet-based control panels like the ICP1.
