Shure Motiv MV7+ USB-C XLR studio and podcast microphone, new.
Key Differences with old Shure MV7
• Connectivity & Ports: The Shure MV7+ features a modern USB-C port alongside XLR, whereas the original Shure MV7 uses older Micro-USB and XLR.
• Onboard Controls & LED Panel: The MV7+ replaces basic touch/app-only controls with a customizable RGB LED touch bar (live metering, pulsing, or solid colors) that also functions as a clickless touch-to-mute switch. The original MV7 has a basic backlit strip and requires the desktop app for USB gain adjustments.
• Software & DSP Features (USB Mode):
• The MV7+ uses the MOTIV Mix app to unlock a real-time denoiser, a digital Popper Stopper for plosive reduction, auto-gain leveling, reverb effects (studio, plate, hall), and three tone profiles (Dark, Natural, Bright).
• The original MV7 relies on the older ShurePlus MOTIV app with more basic EQ and compression options.
• Capsule & Sound Profile: The MV7+ features a redesigned dynamic capsule with a warmer low-mid body and an extended frequency response up to 20kHz (compared to 16kHz on the original MV7), sounding closer to a broadcast microphone out of the box.
• Physical Accessories: The MV7+ includes a longer windscreen out of the box to better tackle popping ("P" and "B" sounds).
