Fork material
Rapid 1 has a carbon fork, so, its weight is considerably lighter than one made out of steel. However, they cost a bit more than steel forks.
Wheels size
As for the wheels, Giant Rapid 1 2011, has a 700c aluminum model. These are the most popular wheels for road, aero, gravel, cyclocross, race, and gravel bikes. However, while they give you great speed and control, these wheels are not so bump-friendly.
Brakes
When you want to stop the bike in time, the brakes are vital. The Rapid 1 has Rim brakes. Rim brakes deliver an average performance overall. However, you could spend a little extra and get a bike that has hydraulic brakes.
