Fernandes GC-50 "grand concert guitar" - handmade classical guitar
- Purchased in Japan
- Made of Brazilian rosewood in the 70s (around 1974)
- Condition: ready to be played. Plays and sounds awesome. There are some small cracks in the top veneer, which do not affect the playability, but may need to be repaired once (see photos).
- Comes with its original case (Takabe Case, Japan) which is protecting it well. The case is technically in perfect shape, but may need some fixes for optical / cosmetic reasons (gluing)
- Strings: Savarez Alliance 500ARJ - in good condition
According to the web, it was hand made by master luthier Kazuo Toshi (aka Kazuo Ichiyanagi). He is known for the process he invented which treated the wood with formaldehyde in order to improve its resonance, it became known as “Superwood”. He made these guitars for a couple of years under the Fernandes label before starting his own shop.
