Description:
This is a military style lensatic compass. It is modeled after the marching compass used by the United States military.
This compass is a must for any outdoor enthusiast. It is a reliable magnetic compass that does not rely on electricity or a battery, so it is already to go. Its compact design makes it easy to stow in a backpack, pocket, or pouch.
The compass measures approximately (closed) 3 inches in length by 2-1/4 inches in width by 1 inch in height. When opened, it measures approximately 5-5/8 inches in length.
The compass is constructed of cast aluminum for durability. It is liquid filled to protect against excessive wear. This also improves readability by reducing excessive swing or wobble.
It has a sighting hairline used to sight on a given prominent landmark or feature. A magnifying viewer assists in zeroing on your precise reading. There is also a straight edge ruler on the side of the compass for marking coordinates on your map.
