The headset does not need to install extras, it works by itself. Comes with controllers and cabling.
There is also a "cable-free" extra (small box), but I never tested it and I don't know if it works or everything is even there to make it work.
The headset works, pretty good resolution and decent accuracy. The trouble begins with game-adaptability. I played most Beat-saber and work great on it. Most other games I bought required some work and digging to make them work with this headset.
So I would recommend for someone either:
* Interested in playing mostly beat-saber
* Who does not shy of getting hands dirty to make the headset work with other games
