A bold, graphic candle holder designed by Kaarina Aho for Arabia in 1964. The wide dish shape is almost architectural, balanced on a tapered base that gives the piece a gentle lift. Brown and white stripes wrap around both the bowl and the foot, creating a strong, rhythmic pattern - simple, but full of attitude.
Aho’s work often played with form and surface in unexpected ways, and this rare piece is a great example: functional at heart, but also a striking object on the table. Lovely with a pillar candle, or simply as a pedestal for small objects or seasonal decorations.
