Dr. Skud Fly Swatter dates back to the 1990s, during which Starck designed several items for Alessi with the ‘Dr.’ name (such as the Dr. Spoon). The fly swatter existed in various colors but is now only available in anthracite. It can, in principle, stand upright. It refers to the speed of a rocket.

Philippe Starck, born in Paris in 1949, is one of the most original and creative designers of our time. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix National de la Création Industrielle and the Award for the Elevation of the Arts from the American Institute of Architects. Starck describes himself as "a Japanese architect, an American art director, a German industrial designer, a French artistic director, an Italian furniture designer."
