M2A4 and M-SHORAD “Bradely” Fighting Vehicles are the first phase of
improvement attempts made toward the new era combat environment.The
improvements of the M2A4 are mainly reflected in mobility,protection,and
informatization.
In terms of appearance and hardware,the M2A4 has a wide driver viewer
enhancer for situational awareness and increased protection to infantry
squad. M2A4 also improve reliability and maintainability of the
hydraulically operated ramp at the rear of the hull and towing
shackles.This upgrade of the Bradley bring a new configuration with an
auxiliary power unit that will enable them to carry the Iron Fist Light
system.The M2A4 has a more powerful engine.It packs a Cummns
VTA-903E-T675 diesel engine, developing 675 hp, to replace original
engine of 600 hp. The vehicle also has a new transmission.It comes out
as one assembly, which makes it easier to maintain and service. M2A4
upgraded the computer system to connect JBC-P with the BFT-2 system,that
enables units to share near real-time friendly and enemy situational
awareness information. This IFV has a three-man crew, can carry six
infantrymen, and is still armed with a 25 mm chain gun and M240 mounted
coaxially to the M242,and two "TOW" missile launchers are mounted to the
left side of the turret.
CVTESS (COMBAT VEHICLE TACTICAL ENGAGEMENT SIMULATION SYSTEM) which
provided from Saab from 2012. It contains such as Transmitters,
Detectors and Data transmission componentsin the system. The training is
conducted in the field with a high fidelity simulator to reinforce
correct crew procedures resulting in a realistic and motivating
exercise. At the same time, the system can also greatly save the
training cycle and training funds of tank crew members.
