Bela Mini with the Multichannel Expander fitted, giving 8 channels of audio in and 8 channels of audio out. Both the Bela Mini and the Expander have been discontinued by Bela and are no longer available new. The equivalent starter kit sold for 160 GBP.
Bela is an embedded platform for ultra low latency audio and sensor processing, running a Xenomai real-time Linux kernel on a TI AM335x PocketBeagle. You code it in your browser through the built-in IDE, in C++, Pure Data, SuperCollider or Csound.
Fully tested and working. All 8 output channels verified individually with a multichannel sine test, each carrying its own tone, all clean. Four audio codecs confirmed present on the I2C bus. The audio engine ran for 90 seconds continuously with zero buffer underruns. The on-board toolchain compiles and links projects, so it arrives as a working development environment rather than just a board that boots.
Connects to any computer by USB and appears as a network device - open a browser at bela.local and the IDE is there. Includes the 32 GB microSD boot card with the Bela system installed, 4 headphone breakout adapters and harness. Note the microSD is the only boot medium and stays with the board.
All 8 audio inputs also confirmed working.
