"Hush Arbors' Keith Wood seems to have made a countless number of albums over a relatively short period of time, yet there's something about this particular release (in conjunction with Leon Dufficy) that feels more substantial than most.
The fact that it arrives on Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace label doesn't hurt, and there's a star turn from Six Organs Of Admittance's Ben Chasny on 'Follow Closely', shredding his way through a guitar solo, but above all, these songs sound a little more under control and more accomplished. Wood's vocals are far more likely to stay in the right key and (as was the case with the MV & EE and Wooden Wand albums for Ecstatic Peace) the recording fidelity seems a good deal cleaner and more developed. Especially magnificent is the unadorned acoustic fingerpicking of 'Rue Hollow', which has to stand as one of the very finest cuts in the Hush Arbors catalogue to date. Psych fans needn't worry though, there's plenty of the old magic on show during 'Water' and 'Bless You', which boasts some of the most gnarled fuzz tones around, riding high on top of the soupy production. Highly recommended." -Boomkat
