Arabian Paju teekuppi ja asetti | Finnish vintage Arabia hand-painted Paju ("Willow") teacup and saucer
Both teacup and plate in this Paju motif in blue and yellow are in a good vintage condition. No chips, no cracks, no crazing. The asking price reflects their condition and expected imperfections.
Teacup
Good condition. Inside under the glazing are a couple of small, faint, blue flecks and one minuscule speck. Some fine, superficial signs of use.
Dimensions: Ø 98 mm, height 64 mm.
Plate
Good condition. Under the glazing a sort of dent and a couple of flecks. Some fine, superficial signs of use.
Dimensions: Ø 147 mm, height 17 mm.

PAJU. Produced by the renowned Arabia of Finland. The Paju motif, made only between 1970-1972, was designed in 1969 by Anja Jaatinen (-Winquist by marriage) and was mainly used on the ND3 tableware model designed in 1960 by Ulla Procopé. Each Paju faïence item unpretentiously shows the signs of the production processes, hand-painted and signed by hand too, with the brand name and the initials of both the designer and the painter… All this makes each item unique and quite rare as well… true retro, vintage treasures.
