Offered for sale here is a framed original Vintage Rolex Watch magazine advertisement from 1982.
The text on the print reads:
Explorer; Mountaineer; Navigator.
Whichever Naomi Uemura chooses to be, he only needs one watch.
Rarely has one man attempted all three professions. Naomi Uemura is such a man.
He has climbed to the top of the highest mountain on four continents. Piloted a small balsa raft down the entire 6,100-kilometre course of the Amazon River. Recorded the longest ever dog-sled trek from Greenland, 12,000 kilometres across the ice of Northern Canada to Alaska and the Bering Straits. Completely alone.
Carrying the absolute minimum of equipment: each item chosen to be both essential and utterly reliable. Like Naomi Uemura’s Rolex GMT-Master.
"It’s hard to say why I do these things," he explains. "To have a dream and then one day to make it real… that’s truly wonderful."
One such dream was to challenge the most awesome terrain of all, the frozen Arctic, in the first solo expedition to the North Pole.
In temperatures below –40°C, Naomi Uemura hacked his way through a labyrinth of jagged ridges and boulders of ice.
He survived the freezing Arctic itself as ice fields broke up around him. He came within inches of a hungry Polar Bear’s jaws. Only by remaining perfectly still did he survive.
That judgement has helped Naomi Uemura survive adventures that defy the imagination. It has also led him to choose a Rolex GMT-Master.
Carved from a block of stainless steel, the unique Oyster case, with its unique Twinlock winding crown, affords absolute protection for the precision movement within, and guarantees the GMT-Master waterproof to a depth of 50 metres.
Dependable in almost any conditions, the rotating bezel and 24-hour hand ensure complete time orientation in any two time zones simultaneously.

This print is over 40 years old, so there will be signs of age. Some discoloration is commonplace and often there are small tears and signs of wear — little badges of authenticity.
There will be images and/or text on the back-side of your print. In some cases this may be slightly discernible through your print.
The brand-new A4 frame measures 22.7cm x 31.7cm x 1.0cm.
The print sits centered on an A4 sheet of Canson Iris Vival 185gsm card stock and is held in place using a single Goldbuch acid-free adhesive.
