Offered for sale here is a framed original Akai Tape Deck magazine advertisement from 1974.
To prevent glare, the photograph was taken without the frame’s perspex front cover. Consequently, the advertisement may appear slightly raised or uneven against the backing sheet in the image.
The text on the print reads:
The tape deck is basically a pretty simple instrument. It records sound. And plays it back. If it does this satisfactorily, that's it.
Yet Akai has spent years and years in research and making technical developments so that their tape decks do this simple job better. Akai insists on quality. Maybe more than is absolutely necessary. Such as a GX head made of glass and single crystal ferrite which must be made in a high-temperature furnace.
And shafts honed to t0.0001 mm accuracy. And rotors wound by hand.
Simplicity can be complex when you demand quality. Akai has built real quality into the new GX-600DB. Akai. It sounds better.
Motor: One hysteresis synchronous capstan motor/Two eddy-current outer-rotor motors
Head: One GX Recording Head. One G Playback Head. One Erase Head.

This print is more than 50 years old, so there will be signs of age. Some discoloration is commonplace and often there are small tears and signs of wear — little badges of authenticity.
There will be images and/or text on the back-side of your print. In some cases this may be slightly discernible through your print.
The brand-new A4 frame measures 22.7cm x 31.7cm x 1.0cm.
The print sits centered on an A4 sheet of Canson Iris Vival 185gsm card stock and is held in place using a single Goldbuch acid-free adhesive.
I can post via Toridilli or you can pickup from Jätkäsaari or Punavuori - whatever suits you best.
