Offered for sale here is a framed original Vintage Rolex magazine advertisement from 1980.
To prevent glare, the photograph was taken without the frame's perspex front cover. Consequently, the advertisement may appear slightly raised or uneven against the backing sheet in the image.
The text on the print reads:
Frederick Forsyth has two things which are proving to be absolutely correct. Much of his latest novel. And all of his watch.
Frederick Forsyth's new novel is called "The Devil's Alternative." It is, by his own admission, the most difficult book he has ever attempted.
Much of it is classic Forsyth: the meticulous research; the faultless attention to detail.
The devious plots and sub plots set against an all too believable backdrop of world politics.
But, this is the world of 1982.
"Which was extremely difficult" says Forsyth. "Attempting to predict accurately the economic and political situations in five countries several years hence and then commit them to print . . . well, as my books depend on people believing they might be reading fact . . . getting it wrong would be disastrous."
In the time since he completed the book, several of his many predictions have already proved to be absolutely correct, which, as he puts it: "Gives me a lot of pleasure . . . coupled with a great sense of relief."
Real time is something Frederick Forsyth never has to make a guess at.
His watch is a Rolex Oyster Day-Date, in 18ct. solid gold with self winding perpetual movement and combined day and date display.
"It's very tough and very well made" he says. "No matter what I do to it, its predictions are always 100 per cent correct. It just goes on and on getting it right."
Rolex feel very confident about this prediction. That will still be true long after 1982.

This print is more than 40 years old, so there will be signs of age. Some discoloration is commonplace and often there are small tears and signs of wear — little badges of authenticity.
There will be images and/or text on the back-side of your print. In some cases this may be slightly discernible through your print.
The brand-new A4 frame measures 22.7cm x 31.7cm x 1.0cm.
The print sits centered on an A4 sheet of Canson Iris Vival 185gsm card stock and is held in place using a single Goldbuch acid-free adhesive.
