To prevent glare, the photograph was taken without the frame's perspex front cover. Consequently, the advertisement may appear slightly raised or uneven against the backing sheet in the image.
The text on the print reads:
Common sense made fascinating:
Volvo's new and efficient driveline combinations
Volvo is already well known the world over for its unusually reliable cars and engines. With the introduction of the engines available for the new Volvo 760 GLE, you'll find this tradition carried on into the future.
The basic engine for the Volvo 760 GLE is the 2.8 litre compactly designed lightweight V6 unit, very flexible and smooth running. Equipped with continuous fuel injection, it offers no less than 156 hp DIN at 5700 rpm (115 kW at 94 rps).
This engine goes very well with the four speed automatic transmission with overdrive characteristics on the fourth step. Like all Volvo automatics, it is renowned for its quiet performance and smoothness through the gears. Above 50 km/h it automatically shifts into overdrive – to help increase fuel efficiency and decrease engine wear by reducing engine revolutions at cruising speeds.
Or you can have that widely acclaimed, ultimate combination of performance and economy – the 2.4 litre Turbo Diesel. This is an advanced 6-cylinder engine that will take your Volvo 760 GLE from standstill to 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds flat – and has a top speed of 175 km/h. And it provides this at a mere 6.4 litres per 100 km (measured at a steady 90 km/h).
This engine – combined with a fully synchronized, four speed manual transmission – has first and second gear ratios designed for powerful acceleration, hillclimbing or trailer pulling, and prolonged engine and clutch life. And its overdrive is easier to use than an ordinary fifth gear: it engages at the push of a button, lowering the engine's rpm, reducing noise and increasing fuel economy.
What combination you choose, will be largely a matter of taste and opinion. Why don't you try them both for yourself?
VOLVO 760 GLE
This print is more than 40 years old, so there will be signs of age. Some discoloration is commonplace and often there are small tears and signs of wear — little badges of authenticity.
There will be images and/or text on the back-side of your print. In some cases this may be slightly discernible through your print.
The brand-new A4 frame measures 22.7cm x 31.7cm x 1.0cm.
