Offered for sale here is a framed original Longines Watch magazine advertisement from 1993.
The text on the print reads:
1993: THE TRANSSIBERING LONGINES EXPEDITION COVERS 8000 KM ALONG THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
Since the start of the 20th century, Longines has accompanied the world's most intrepid explorers, including the illustrious names of Roald Amundsen, Richard E. Byrd and Charles Lindbergh. By participating in the greatest human adventures of our time, Longines is continuing in the spirit of quality and innovation which has been its hallmark for over 125 years.
The vast expanse of Northern Siberia still holds a mysterious allure for Westerners to this day, and not without reason: shut-off until the early 90's for political reasons, this territory offers very little in the way of modern communication. The Transsibering Longines expedition is cutting across Northern Siberia at this precise moment in time. Made up from an international team of scientists, engineers, photographers and camera-men, the expedition aims to bring the world to a better understanding of these regions - amongst the most isolated of our planet - and of the peoples who inhabit them. Today, these ethnic groups are left face to face with the scars of a brutal exploitation of their natural resources. That particular problem gives evidence of a dramatic confrontation between two cultures: one of tradition, originality and fragility, the other of progression, high technology and pride.
By lending its support to the Trans-sibering, Longines hopes to heighten a growing awareness of these problems and take a positive step towards solving them.

THE LEGEND LIVES ON.
This print is more than 30 years old, so there will be signs of age. Some discoloration is commonplace and often there are small tears and signs of wear — little badges of authenticity.
There will be images and/or text on the back-side of your print. In some cases this may be slightly discernible through your print.
The brand-new A4 frame measures 22.7cm x 31.7cm x 1.0cm.
The print sits centered on an A4 sheet of Canson Iris Vival 185gsm card stock and is held in place using a single Goldbuch acid-free adhesive.
Can be posted (Toridiili) or collected from either Punavuori or Jätkäsaari, whatever suits best.
